Project update | Battery of 4.5 MWh operational at Montea site in Ghent

At Montea’s logistics site in Ghent, currently operated by DSV for its logistics activities, a 4.5 MWh BESS is now fully operational. Montea – a leading player in logistics real estate – sees battery storage as a logical step in making its sites more sustainable and further optimizing energy costs. The installation is one of many projects with companies committed to sustainable and future-proof infrastructure.

For Bnewable, this project is another concrete illustration of our model:

▶️ Turnkey approach, without complexity for the customer
We develop, (co-)invest and manage battery storage systems as a turnkey solution. This way, our customer does not have to worry about technical choices, financing or operational follow-up: we take care of it all, from start to finish.

Via Voltana, our energy management platform, the battery is continuously controlled according to market signals and local consumption patterns. The system supports peak management, reduces energy bills and generates revenue through participation in energy markets.

This installation in Ghent joins other projects we are currently rolling out in Belgium. Each of these batteries contributes to our mission: to help companies be smarter about their energy consumption while making the electricity grid more stable.
