Financial Controller

As our Financial Controller you will:
- Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes across HoldCo, DevCos and SPVs.
- Coordinate with our accounting team on invoicing, cost accounting and actual vs budgets
- Oversee general ledger accuracy, reconciliations and accounting policies (IFRS / local GAAP).
- Prepare statutory financial statements and coordinate external audits.
- Ensure tax compliance (corporate income tax, VAT, etc.) in collaboration with external advisors.
- Develop and monitor annual budget and rolling forecasts.
- Build and maintain structured financial reporting at project level (CAPEX, OPEX, revenues).
- Support margin and profitability analysis across our BESS portfolio.
- Maintain financial models in coordination with investment and business development teams.
- Document processes and ensure audit-readiness in a fast-scaling environment.
- Translate complex financial data into clear and actionable insights for management.
As a valued member of our dynamic and entrepreneurial team, you will combine financial rigor with hands-on execution, building structure without overcomplicating processes.
Your Profile.
To excel in this role, you’ll need to:
- Possess a master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
- Hold a professional qualification (RA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent), this is a strong plus.
- Have at least 5 years of relevant experience in controlling, audit (Big 4 is a plus), or finance management.
- Bring strong accounting knowledge (IFRS and/or local GAAP).
- Have experience with SPV structures and project finance environments (a strong advantage).
- Demonstrate advanced Excel skills and solid understanding of financial modelling.
- Be comfortable working with ERP systems and structured reporting processes.
- Be native Dutch or French, fluent in English. German is a plus.
- Be structured and highly detail oriented.
- Take ownership and work proactively.
- Be hands-on and pragmatic, you build, improve and execute.
- Communicate complex financial information clearly and confidently.
- Balance financial control with operational agility.
- Manage multiple entities and priorities simultaneously.
- Work relatively independently while aligning with the Head of Finance and management team.
- Adapt well in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.
- Provide valuable financial insights to technical, commercial and legal stakeholders.
