About the project

Bnewable developed, financed and realized this 9 MWh battery energy storage system at Steengoed, specialist in resource extraction. We also provide operational control thanks to Voltana, our in-house Energy Management Platform developed for behind-the-meter BESS projects. Voltana intelligently controls both local energy flows and market interactions. In this way, peaks in intensive electricity consumption at the Dilsen-Stokkem site are smoothed out, the existing PV system is optimally utilized and, at the same time, extra value is created via multi-market valorization.
